QA Game Lead
Job Description
Double Fine is looking for a contract QA Lead for its San Francisco-based development studio. The position's start date will be in November. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on contributor in the testing of our internal projects, and management of our external QA Vendors. This would involve organizing and leading the testing effort on pre-release video games as well as being a major point of contact between multiple disciplines including Art, Animation, Audio, Design, Programming, and Production for their testing needs.

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience on testing PC, and/or consoles. Includes familiarity with fundamental testing practices, and execution.
- 1+ years of experience as a QA Lead. Includes familiarity with the management of bug databases (I.E. JIRA, Favro, Hansoft, etc), Test Case management/creation, and management of internal/external QA partners.
- Proficiency in setting up and maintaining PC/Console testing hardware and software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for bug reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Be a voice in upholding and improving upon the quality of DoubleFine games
- Hands on testing and bug reports of our in-house projects.
- Writing, planning, and executing test plans for both internal and external QA use.
- Management and scheduling of internal and external QA vendors
- Maintenance and construction of bug databases for both internal and external company use.
- Assess product quality, usability, and device limitations
- Participate in release management activities
- Working both independently and/or with a team, and thriving with focusing on the details, such as; spotting subtle problems, raising issues, and taking ownership of the solution
Pluses:
- Ability to work onsite at our San Francisco studio.
- Testing experience in Multiplayer titles.
- Previous experience in any leadership role.
- Experience in Xbox Requirements testing (XRs)
- Specific testing experience on Xbox+PC Hardware and Software.
- Experience in gray box testing.
- Have a strong preference for working in a highly creative, innovative, and nimble development environment, where collaborating with and supporting design, audio, art, animation, tech, and other disciplines is standard.
- Experience working with small to medium-sized teams with shared pipelines and toolchains.
- Innovative problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Benefits
Expected salary range: $80k - $95k
