Our highly collaborative team works to translate traditional courseware into online formats to create innovative courses for our university partners. We're growing and adding new programs to our portfolio which necessitates adding a new Quality Assurance Specialist to our team.
This position reports to the Director of Learning Design and is hybrid requiring two days in the office a week reporting into our Chicago office.
The Quality Assurance Specialist works within a multi-disciplinary course production team and utilizes superior editing and quality assurance skills to copyedit course content, maintain the integrity of program materials and processes, identify accessibility issues, and improve online courses to support student learning and achievement.

Responsibilities:

• Copyedit online course materials for clarity, consistency, and quality following Everspring's style guide and editorial standards for university partners.
• Review a wide range of academic content via copywriting, proofreading, and functional testing.
• Test functionality of courses through checking course settings, multimedia pieces, course links, third-party tool integration, etc.
• Utilize proprietary quality assurance checklists to evaluate course content for logic and accuracy.
• Review content to meet accessibility guidelines and 508 compliance.
• Edit course content within the LMS.
• Format content and resources according to APA guidelines.
• Review content for optimal UX/UI.
• Prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• Recommend and implement improvements that advance the efficiency and quality of the Learning Design team.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, writing, English, instructional design, educational technology, curriculum design, or related field required; master's degree strongly preferred
• 2-3 years of comparable experience in editing and/or quality assurance, including copywriting, proofreading, and functional testing
• Experience in higher education preferred
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Superior ability with MS Office and computers (Mac or PC)
• Experience using academic standards rubrics, such as the OLC Quality Scorecard or Quality Matters
• Experience with project tracking/project management tools, such as Jira, Smartsheet, and Google Suite (all preferred)
• Proven organizational skills along with the ability to self-manage multiple development projects and deadlines
• Experience testing digital content and multimedia products
• Experience with learning management systems preferred
• Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and 508 compliance standards
• Familiarity with APA guidelines preferred
• Full vaccination - as defined by the CDC - is required
