QA/Test Developer

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Design and develop tests and workloads to ensure the reliability capacity and scalability of the product by working closely with development within an Agile operating model.
• Perform test activities in virtual or real environments for various levels of test including functional system integration.
• Container experience zCX .
• Identify defects and work with development to analyze and resolve.
• Optimize and automate existing test scenarios.
• Improve existing Test Automation infrastructure and collaborate on test strategies.
• Acquire and utilize IBM Z (LoZ/zOS) skills – system programming various software/hardware disciplines etc.
• Agile practices Jira GitHub and Jenkins tool knowledge.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with the Software Development life cycle; coding unit test function or component test system test and integration test
• Demonstrated execution experience of Systems project development
• Strong programming skills in C (Willingness to learn Assembler and IBM high level PLX language ) PLX JCL Assembly Rexx Java Javascript Unix system scripting Shell/Python.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting
• Ability to learn new tools quickly
• Good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment.
• Able to guide a team of lesser experienced professionals

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• zOS architecture System programming
• Familiar with z/OS and z/VM
• Programming languages: MVS JCL REXX
• Dump reading using Interactive Problem Control System (IPCS). Ability to interpret logs and dumps
• GIT
• JIRA
• Rational Team Concert (RTC)
