Role Overview:
As a member of the Quality Control (QC) team, the technician will be responsible for accurately receiving samples into the QC laboratory, assigning tracking numbers, preparing samples for shipment to outside test laboratories and maintaining QC tracking databases. In this role, accuracy, safety, and quality are extremely important. You will be expected to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and you will assist other lab personnel with ensuring proper storage and that turn-around times are met.

You will be expected to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and you will assist other lab personnel with ensuring proper storage and that turn-around times are met.
Responsibilities:
- Timely and accurate receipt of internal and external samples into QC
- Inspects internal and external samples to meet specifications and reject samples that do not meet specifications
- Timely and accurate shipment of samples for testing and identification to external labs.
- Timely and accurate receipt, inspection, and documentation on sample submission forms
- Responsible for keeping and adequate amount of shipment supplies on hand
- Communicates and resolves shipping discrepancies with internal teams and external test laboratories
- Maintains required QC records and logs via paper and computerized systems.
- Initiates investigations for deviations and EM excursions.
- Scans QC documents for tracking and archiving.
- Verifies QC documents associated with receiving and shipping of QC samples.
- Assist with the lab upkeep on a daily basis.
- Reads, understands and follows SOPs to comply with all applicable regulations
- Other duties, as assigned
Location:

Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- BS Degree preferred, in a Biological Science field
Experience:
- Proficiency in other compliance disciplines, i.e., cGMP, GLPs, GDP, GxPs
Material & Equipment:
- PC-Daily
Competences:
- Ensure Turn-around-times are met
- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks, and prioritize workload
- Experience with Microsoft based applications (MS WORD and EXCEL), and ability to learn internal computer systems
- Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events; excellent time management skills
- Ability to work consistently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including possible off-shifts and weekends.
Work Environment:
- Office and Lab Environment
- Fast-paced with frequently changing dynamics
- Main hours are M-F 9 am - 5:30 pm, may occasionally be required to work earlier or later as needed.
Physical Requirement:
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able to sit or stand in a stationary position for 80% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copier or printer
- This person in this position frequently communicates via email or phone with other departments and outside partners and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
