QC Microbiologist

Overview:

We are seeking a QC Microbiologist to join our Locus family! This is an entry level quality position in our lab testing and reporting on the manufacturing process and release of our innovative products. For Locus to continue to grow and be present in industries, we need quality product in the field and that cannot happen without you! Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Conduct quality control testing on production fermentation materials.
• Conduct analyses of raw, in-process, and finished product samples.
• Always utilize aseptic techniques when handling cultures.
• Communicate directly with the Quality Control Manager to report abnormalities, concerns, questions, and recommendations.
• Actively participate in production meetings.
• Maintain accurate quality records and other documentation as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory working environment including organization of materials.
• Utilize good laboratory practices and perform lab procedures in accordance with the SOPs.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology or related scientific field required.
• Entry level experience in a laboratory setting required.

 Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Familiarity with microbiology techniques.
