The Quality Control Scientist will work as part of the Reagent QC team to support Reagent QC operations. The individual will be responsible for testing and releasing Illumina reagents in a fast-paced, GMP regulated environment, maintaining stock of consumables in the lab, collaborating with other departments for production and non-production processes, as well as maintain a strong working relationship with supply chain and other partner organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of a production process, management of a process flow that occurs across several departments.
• Maintains health of laboratory inventory by pulling Kanban cards, ordering materials, and expediting urgent requests.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical biochemical and molecular biology assays to support release, characterization and stability testing of raw materials, production intermediates and final goods.
• Analysis of data generated by functional assays.
• Participate in developing and validating testing methodology, revising and updating Standard Operating Procedures.
• Review data obtained for compliance to specifications and report abnormalities.
• Attends and participate in team meetings.

Requirements:

• Ability to understand and follow work instructions and perform molecular biology assays with little guidance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Self-starter, strong work ethic, strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to work independently and in a team environment, a are essential.
• GMP experience a plus
• Knowledge of the following:
• PCR
• Gel extraction
• cDNA synthesis
• Basic Genetics
• Basic statistical analysis techniques
• Microarray assays and technology
• Knowledge of ISO and FDA requirements preferred.
• Experience with large data sets a plus
• Experience with robotics a plus
• Experience with Illumina products also a plus

Experience/Education:

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience
• High School Diploma required
