QHSE Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) at Factory Level

o Support the overall management of HSE within the factory, specifically overseeing the manufacturing of chemical injection skids, wellhead control panels and automation business.

o Ensure compliance with JAFZA HSE regulations, legal requirements, and ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) across factory operations, focusing on worker safety and environmental sustainability.

o Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.

2. Support for Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Carbon Footprint Reduction Initiatives
o Assist in the execution of action plans aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions within factory operations, aligning with the company’s long-term goal of reducing carbon footprint by 2050.
o Implement energy-saving and waste reduction strategies within the factory to contribute to sustainability targets.
3. Project HSE Support
o Provide HSE support during the construction phase of new projects, ensuring sustainability and green building requirements are met in line with the company's Vision Zero initiatives.
o Coordinate with project teams to ensure that HSE guidelines are integrated into day-to-day operations during project execution.
4. Assistance in Yearly HSE Plans and Objective Setting
o Collaborate with the Senior Manager in developing and implementing annual HSE plans for the factory, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
o Monitor progress on HSE tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and as per the established plan.

5. ISO Compliance Support
o Assist in maintaining ISO certification (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018) at the factory level.
o Prepare documentation and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
o Ensure that corrective actions from audit findings are implemented in a timely manner.
6. Contractor and Subcontractor Compliance
o Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors working within the factory comply with Avanceon’s HSE contractual requirements.
o Conduct periodic safety meetings with contractors to review their compliance and performance.
7. Training and Competency Management
o Support the Senior Manager in conducting annual Training Need Analysis (TNA) for factory employees and contractors.
o Ensure that training and competency development programs for factory workers are completed on schedule.
8. Incident Reporting and Investigation Support
o Assist in incident reporting and participate in investigations, utilizing knowledge from HABC Level 2 Incident Investigation certification to identify root causes and corrective actions.
o Ensure that corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences of similar incidents within the factory.
9. Policy Implementation and Continual Improvement
o Ensure effective implementation of HSE policies and procedures within the factory, as outlined by higher management.
o Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices through active participation in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
• Education:
o BS in Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering

• Certifications:
o IOSH Managing Safely (MS).
o NEBOSH Process Safety Management (PSM)/IOGC
o NEBOSH JGC
o Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
o HABC Level 2 Certification in Incident Investigation
Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in a relevant HSE role, ideally in UAE within a manufacturing environment, with experience in chemical injection skids or wellhead control panels being advantageous.
• Must have UAE Driving license.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 45001).
• Experience with HSE risk assessments, audits and inspections
• Good Understanding of HAZOP Process
• Solid understanding of local and international HSE regulations.
• Good command on current ESG Frameworks and sustainability practices
• Excellent is conducting Incident investigation while using root cause analysis techniques (Fault Tree, Event Tree Analysis, TapRoot etc.)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
