QMS Documentation Specialist

Quality Engineering team seeking QMS (Quality Management System) Technical Writers supporting Quality organization while we are establishing QMS function. Technical writer role plays a key role in establishing QMS process discipline by delivering formal quality procedures at all levels of organization. Technical writer role works closely with quality functional leaders helping them establish formal polices, SOPs, and work instructions. This role directly interfaces with supplier quality, field quality, and product quality leads to execute their individual functional vision. This role interacts with every cross-function within the organization to build strong QMS culture under QMS manager’s vision.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

• QMS Technical Writing Establishment
  • Work with internal quality team leads to obtain an in-depth understanding of their individual functions and roles. Generate high-quality and easy to understand QMS procedures, work instructions and templates that meet QMS standards and expectations.
  • Work with cross functions (Quality, Supply chain, Design, Manufacturing, etc) to create, update, approve, and release documents per QMS standards.
  • Deliver QMS documentation on time without compromising technical writing standards.
  • Meet with engineers, project managers, and cross-functional leaders to learn about specific products or processes before producing formal QMS documents and procedures.
  • Responsible for creating, revising, and releasing technical content of manufacturing and quality documentation like SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Generate process flows and process interaction charts to promote visual understanding of complex functions before establishing formal procedures.
  • Customize and adapt cross-functional documentation to new templates and formats. Gather feedback from Engineers, managers, associates, and technical operators to improve order, clarity, consistency, and terminology.
  • Conduct and support review cycles of new and existing documentation.
  • Manage revision controls and documentation obsolescence per established Documentation Management Systems (DMS) policy.
  • Understand and adhere to records retention policy for all level 1, 2,3 4 documents.

• QMS documentation discipline and Training
  • Advocate and establish strong QMS documentation discipline by training and ensuring compliance to formal QMS documentation expectations.
  • Ensure documentation format consistency per QMS protocols at all levels of organization.
  • Produce QMS training material for end-user, collect and incorporate end-user’s feedback to continually improve QMS education and training.
  • Establish QMS training modules, educate, and train employees to adhere to QMS documentation norms to promote documentation consistency.
  • Enhance end user QMS comprehension using photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts while establishing and delivering formal QMS training material.
  • Work with subject matter experts in writing and revising SOPs and Training Modules.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 8 – 10 years professional QMS writing experience delivering formal QMS documents.
• In depth understanding of QMS (example, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS 9100, etc.).
• Knowledge of formal QMS documentation hierarchy (i.e., Level 1,2,3,4).
• Good understanding of QMS audits, documents & records management policies.
• Strong documentation skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize various cross-functional documentation requests.
• Strong organization skills with high focus on attention to details leaving no trace of documentation comprehension and interpretation ambiguity.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable processes and process flow charts.
• Project management skills with effective communication at all levels of organization.
• Excellent organizational and coordination abilities for multi-project deliverables.
• Self-directed, independent, and is highly motivated towards professional QMS writing.
• Ability to function in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with software associated with a Quality Management System (QMS).
