How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to Senior Manager, IT Applications, as Quality Assurance professional, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our CLM IT solutions. You will be responsible for executing test plans, as well as identifying and reporting defects. Your expertise in testing methodologies and tools will contribute to the overall success of our Ciena IT services. Automatically extract critical clauses and terms.

  • Test Planning: Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to define test objectives, strategies, and scope. Create comprehensive test plans that cover functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
  • Test Execution: Execute test cases based on the defined test plans. Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools. Conduct both manual and automated testing to ensure the highest level of software quality.
  • Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools. Continuously improve test automation frameworks to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for test automation and implement appropriate solutions
  • Test Documentation: Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test data. Ensure that all test artifacts are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the team.
  • Defect Management: Work closely with the development team to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and maintain high product quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in software testing. Identify areas for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance the overall quality assurance process.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, specifically in testing enterprise-level applications.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with JIRA and ServiceNow applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) concepts and processes is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual pay range for this position in Canada is 62,800 - 100,400 C


Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

 

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
