Position Summary

Crescent Quality Assurance Manager’s (SQM) is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of Site Quality Systems and Programs to ensure process driven Quality Design and controls are in place as required to meet / comply with applicable Safety, Quality, Regulatory & Customer standards in a Regulated cGMP Environment.

The SQM will work with Cross Functional Leaders and staff to develop and maintain the Crescent Quality Management System (QMS). The SQM is responsible for the management: measuring, monitoring and reporting Quality KPIs and trends while investigating outages and nonconformance's and driving necessary corrective / preventative actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety
  • Read and understand the Crescent Safety Playbook – Doing It Safe
  • Ensure Safe and well-maintained Work Environment and conditions throughout all work spaces, facility and surrounding areas
  • Actively participate in Safety Committee activities and initiatives and champion and engage all staff and employees in cultivating and promoting a Safety-First culture 
People
  • Participate in Crescent talent selection, talent development and recognition processes
  • Audit Site Training Program to ensure Crescent People have been appropriately trained to successfully satisfy required role and responsibilities as defined 
  • Train and monitor staff as required and perform fair and accurate performance evaluations. Recognize and develop People so that all have the opportunity to meet their greatest potential while proactively addressing areas of conflict and underperformance 
  • Promote a Work Environment where Crescent People are valued and can safely communicate, grow and develop.
Productivity
  • Support Cross Functional Teams to manage and prioritize Quality staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedules are met
  • Support and review material and workflow processes to ensure Design Quality and maximize production efficiencies.
  • Champion the Crescent Culture of Doing it Right, Doing it Safe and Doing it Well and abide by all written and understood policies and procedures
  • Identify, drive and support all Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts
  • All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to the identification and training of an individual capable of successfully completing all stated Key Responsibilities as appropriate to maintain integrity of position for progression planning and coverage during times of absence 
Quality
  • Manage and audit compliance to Crescent QMS to ensure Quality Programs and Systems are intact and satisfy applicable Regulatory and Customer requirements 
  • Lead all applicable internal & external (third party, customer and Regulatory) Quality audits and visits 
  • Measure, monitor and report and account for site Quality KPIs (Process Accuracy).
  • Participate as an active member of the Project Start Up Team to ensure Quality considerations and Design Quality have been implemented prior to new project start
  • Create and manage new production specifications and requirements and train staff to ensure top quality (in specification) production and QA inspections are being adhered to and executed 
  • Manage site nonconformance’s and CAPAs and lead investigations as necessary 
  • Manage Departmental staff and monitor data and productivity of staff, improving team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Sustain and drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities driving Quality CI initiatives 
  • Perform batch record review and batch release as required
Customer Value
  • Ensure processes, programs and controls are intact and executed against to deliver top quality product to all Crescent customers
  • Manage all customer Quality relationships, reporting and communication to ensure customers are well informed with Crescent performance, challenges and CI initiatives 
Financial 
  • Safeguard site Process Accuracy KPI to meet established targets 
  • Improve organizational efficiency and waste reduction 
  • Monitor variable spend on Quality Programs to ensure services and pricing needs are met and maximized

Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Fast paced environment, requiring SQM to adapt to constant changes in schedules, volumes, staffing and shift requirements 
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to collect and process information and data in a detailed and thorough scientific manner to drive meaningful CI opportunities and initiatives to closure.

Qualifications:Education & Experience:
  • College diploma and 3-5 years Quality Management experience (related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense certification or experience
  • Regulatory cGMP manufacturing experience
  • Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) experience
