We are seeking a skilled test engineer lead to join our IBM development team. As part of our team you will be responsible for testing and maintaining high-quality software products working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities
The Z Software AI team is looking for Quality Assurance Engineer who show the initiative and thrive at tackling problems. The AI landscape as a whole is rapid paced and comes with ever developing requirements which you as a test engineer would be required to help design and engineer test solutions that innovate within that environment. This will include understanding AI principals with data manipulation and transformation prompt engineering and model validations as we look to build up high quality solutions. You will be applying the software engineering rigour to developments from IBM Research ensuring proper processes and best practices are followed accordingly. Your ability to shift between technologies and languages is important for this role.
You as a Quality Assurance Engineer design complex product component test cases and integrate software packages programs and reusable objects residing on multiple platforms. You are curious to learn as demonstrated by your up-to-date technical knowledge. You are a good team player and you are familiar with Agile methodologies and principles and/or have experience working in an Agile team. As a Test Automation Engineer lead you will be responsible for Testing and Automating test cases for AI applications through the full systems development lifecycle.

• Participate in the design and implementation of sophisticated software systems
• You will work with the Product Architects Product Managers to understand various priorities and work towards the execution.
• Create test plans.
• Execute testing following the test plan.
• Automate the test cases.
• Understand the domain requirements and convert it to test cases and automate it.
• Participate in and adhere to professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development Test Driven Development Continuous Integration Source Code Management (git) and GitHub.
• Ensure good code coverage. Support bug fixes during testing and deploy to target environments.
• Participate in the planning creation and execution of automated test cases and load/performance testing. Create/maintain technical documentation.
• Hands on experience in handling and debugging customer issues work with L2 support team.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency with Computer Science/Software Engineering knowledge and contribute to the technical skills growth of other team members.
• You will be providing vigilance and compliance to various software engineering support and release processes e.g security stack upgrades that are free of vulnerabilities etc.

Skills you will develop:

• An understanding of AI technologies (especially foundation and Large Language Models (LLM))
• Tackling the challenges of training testing benchmark and validating AI generated content and code.
• Becoming familiar with the business applications of AI and how the Watsonx platform brings value to IBM clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 8+ years Industry experience in testing and test automation.
• Experience in Selenium Java Python Node.js Go JavaScript Git for Defect tracking Postman JSON Open API spec
• Understanding of test automation frameworks and integrations with multiple tools.
• Good understanding of the testing principles/methods/concepts and and expierence in applying them regularly and consistently with a strong focus on better software quality
• Knowldege on testing reactJS UI
• Domain Expertise in Rest API testing Web application testing Cross browser testing
• Test leadership skills to drive the test planning execution and improve test velocity
• Excellent in defining Test plans test cases
• Expertise in creating test suite for various system configuration
• Well versed with agile DevOps and continuous delivery
• Good problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience Sanity Regression Functional and Non functional testing
• Good in documentation at various stages of testing Demonstrated written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytics and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with git and various development tools: IDEs and others on Mac Linux or Windows platforms

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies
• Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies
• Good debugging skills and trouble-shooting.
• Exposure using Container management technology such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience in z/OS and mainframe technologies.
• Knowledge/hands on skills in COBOL is plus
• Skilled at defining test strategies that can include AI and non AI solutions
