This role will work closely with other members of the regional and global Compliance Team and related teams to ensure that Airwallex meets all of its regulatory obligations supported by a data driven approach, in line with our risk appetite and culture of compliance. Your overall objective as a Compliance Quality Assurance Manager is to ensure that you support the regional and global Compliance Team by designing, implementing, and executing the compliance quality assurance program. You will be expected to apply a strong attention to detail and sound, objective business judgement.
What you’ll be doing:
- In this role, you will gain an in-depth understanding of Airwallex’ product offering and financial crime related processes and controls in a business environment that is growing exponentially
- Work with key stakeholders to develop the compliance quality assurance program plan on a risk-based approach by critically reviewing and assessing the existing compliance program and related controls
- Perform and document the compliance quality assurance program according to the compliance quality assurance plan approved by senior management through desktop review, interviews, process walkthrough and sample testing, etc.
- Identify compliance related risks, determine the root cause of issues and provide suitable recommendations for findings detected to mitigate the risks effectively
- Communicate the outcome of the compliance quality assurance with key stakeholders and keep track on remedial actions and provide periodic updates to senior management
- Partner with Compliance stakeholders to find creative solutions to not only identify compliance gaps, but also to illustrate issues to relevant individuals and/or teams
- Develop an understanding of Airwallex internal policies and procedures, and stay up-to-date on AML-related news and emerging regulatory developments and propose data-driven solutions
- Apply your compliance knowledge and data analytical skills to assess the customers risk exposure
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Statistics and Mathematics, Law or related disciplines
- Preferably with CAMS, AAMLP or relevant qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in AML/ compliance review/ compliance audit in a financial institution or fintech
- High calibre candidates with relevant experience in professional services will also be considered
- Excellent understanding of AML and sanctions controls, industry practices, and regulatory expectations and trends in the financial services, payments, or fintech industries
- Familiar with relevant local, regional and international AML/CFT laws & regulations
- Familiar with AML processes such as screening, KYC and Transaction Monitoring
- Strong communication, time/project management, and analytical/technical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to identify the root cause of issues and attention to detail
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines
- Tenacity to follow issues through to resolution
- Ability to work with different cultural groups and build consensus
