Position Summary
We are seeking a quality assurance (QA) associate to join our team at The Rockport Group. This person will be responsible for testing activities across multiple web-based applications. This candidate will collaborate with other members of the Product team through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the software testing lifecycle. In this position, you will strive to maintain and improve product quality using analytical and problem-solving skills to validate the release of software against functional and technical specifications. You will have active participation in understanding the functionality and enhancements of the product(s) Rockport supports. Following the latest industry practices you will design, modify, and execute test plans and test cases to ensure that functional specifications are recorded, tested, and fulfilled using project management and defect tracking tools, and will participate in process documentation activities.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Product team (business analysts and software engineers) throughout the entire SDLC with an understanding of the requests and solutions delivered
  • Create, execute, track, and report on test case results for system integration testing, regression testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, and performance testing throughout the entire Software Testing Lifecycle for large scale projects
  • Interpret requirements to create and manage test data and validate functionality based on use-cases
  • Validate business rules within the application
  • Log and track project issues as they are encountered using project management and defect tracking tools and know when to escalate urgent and complex issues
  • Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis
  • Work on department-wide activities such as process documentation and procedures and assist with efforts to automate testing
  • Perform other related tasks as needed to ensure customer service and quality delivery

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience (BA/BS in Computer Science, Finance, MIS, Engineering preferred)
  • 3+ years experience as a Quality Associate in an IT Product/Services company performing manual testing
  • Strong QA domain knowledge and proficiency with QA methodology
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with testing web-based software (AWS preferred)
  • Experience using Atlassian suite including Jira and Confluence
  • Familiar working with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Bonus points
    • SQL, including an understanding of queries, stored procedures, functions, and views
    • Test automation experience
    • Financial Services Industry
