The QA Engineer Intern will be responsible for testing our web-based software applications.  As an integral member of our QA engineering team, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated and excel at problem solving.  We are looking for strong communicators who can quickly adapt to new process requirements, speed and diversity of company production tasks, and are personally driven to perform. Our team is focused on planning and implementing solutions to satisfy specific business and customer needs, we are looking for like-minded individuals to enhance our professional QA staff. 

Professional skills developed through the 9 week program:

• Ability to manage time and schedule.
• Ability to develop relationships and confidence with facing retailers, field, and corporate team members.
• Capacity to handle numerous tasks and objectives from multiple stakeholders.
• Understand the needs of the client and organization; deliver results based on objectives.
• Sharpen your presentation skills by delivering an end of program presentation to your team on your project work, results, and key-take-aways of your internship experience.
• Meet with Affinitiv Executive Leadership every week for open Q & A sessions for professional coaching and career advice.

What you can expect to learn: 

• Ensure quality product is delivered to our customers
• Review, learn and understand assigned areas of functionality as necessary to properly test requested changes. 
• Review/attend information sessions that pertain to feature or functionality within their area of responsibility. This may include documented requirements or design. Provide accurate feedback during review of documents. 
• Write test plans/cases. 
• Learn and understand the concepts used to create test plans/cases that meet the quality goals and department strategies. 
• Assist others in testing areas of the application, test features and bugs. 
• Potential for learning and assisting with QA Automation
• Enter change requests (Cases) that are accurate and follow processes while ensuring they are clearly stated and submitted in a timely fashion.
• Directly responsible for their own deliverables as well as assisting others on the team as necessary to complete the overall project objectives.
• Report clearly to their team and supervisors the status of assigned tasks.
• Complete work successfully within allotted timeframes (schedule hours).
• Learn and adhere to testing processes and policies.
• Excel at delivering assigned tasks on schedule.
• Working in a fast-paced web application development environment is preferred.
• Working with SCRUM development methodology.  

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Matriculated college student, GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred with a technical degree (major or minor) 
• Expected graduation June/Dec 2023 or Spring 2024
• Programming experience, C# experience preferred
• Preferred exp writing database queries (SQL)
• Basic understanding of how APIs work
• Technical understanding of how software works
• Application Testing experience preferred  
• Strong analytical skills
• Attention to detail in documentation and execution of tasks
• Experience with QA tools such as Jira, TestRail is a plus
