Summary

Justice Prisoners and Alien Transportation System, Oklahoma City, OK.

The selectee of this position serves as a Quality Assurance Specialist. You will be responsible for assisting in the administration of JPATS Aircraft Quality Assurance Program on JPATS fleet of Boeing 737 Series aircraft.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-1910-12 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:

Individual Occupation Requirements

Education:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education:Major study -- quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.

OR

Experience:
Specialized Experience:Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.

In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirements above, you must also meet the specialized experience below to be minimally qualified for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year (12 months) of experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: 1) Monitoring aircraft maintenance and inspection operations; 2) Identifying trends or weaknesses in an aircraft maintenance and inspection program; 3) Conducting quality assurance audits of areas related to an aircraft maintenance and inspection program; and 4) Inspecting aircraft maintenance to ensure compliance with organization and federal regulations, polices, and procedures.

Education: Undergraduate and GraduateEducation: Major studies --quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

AND

Selective Factor: A special qualification without which an applicant could not perform the duties of the position in a satisfactory manner will be used to screen out applicants.
  • Current and valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) ratings. You must submit a copy of your certificate (front &back) with your application.
AND

Possession of the following competencies:
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
  • Writing: Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information {for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material that is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Quality Assurance: Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance and quality control used to ensure a product fulfills functional requirements and standards.
  • Planning and Evaluating: Determines objectives and strategies; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities.
Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate the first five pages of work experience in your resume based on these competencies.
