Job Description

The journey to space starts with the engines.
Ursa Major was founded to bring a new model to space access: one in which every link in an enormous value chain isn’t limited by those around it. We design rocket engines and propulsion solutions.
Our products and technologies require an extraordinary team. A team that will mold tomorrow’s technologies while deploying today’s best. We are an intrinsically motivated team that has a passion for solving problems and empowering each other every day to develop our skills, knowing that there is always room for growth.

The Quality Assurance Specialist’s primary focus will be ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality products that meet our customer’s expectations.  Supporting the manufacturing and design teams to drive continual improvement projects and deploy lean initiatives to reduce errors is a key activity.

Responsibilities

  • Issue nonconformance reports and review corrective action responses. Coordinate performance improvement plans with process owners
  • Ensures calibrated equipment is maintained within the calibration period and operational. Coordinates with calibration service providers to maintain the integrity of the system.  Updates the calibration recall tracking system
  • Perform internal audits of the Quality Management System (QMS). May also perform internal audits for the environmental and/or safety management systems.  Interface with management system registrars as needed
  • Quality reporting and management review preparation

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Quality Assurance / Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (10+ years)
  • Understanding of engineering models and drawings (basic GD&T knowledge)
  • Familiarity with inspection methods and reporting requirements

Benefits Include

  • Unlimited PTO - Vacation, Sick, Personal, and Bereavement
  • Paid parental and Adoptive Leave
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Tax Advantage Accounts (HSA/FSA)
  • Employer Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability, Basic Life, AD&D
  • Additional Benefit Options Including Voluntary Life, Emergency Medical Transport, and Pet Insurance
  • EAP Program
  • Retirement Savings Plan - Traditional 401(k) and a Roth 401(k)
  • Company stock options
