Position: QC (Advanced Level)

Reports to: Bindery Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Manufacturing

Location/Shift: Burlingame, CA / Day Shift

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform random sample inspections in all production processes to assure quality standards are met and procedures are being followed.
• Emphasis on product color print quality, finishing and bindery process accuracy.
• Select “Customer Samples” as required by the Sales team that represents “customer requirements and expectations”.

Experience:

• Printing Industry knowledge in either print production, color management, proofing, or design.
• Minimum of 4 Years in a similar QC position.
• Knowledge Microsoft Office 365 suite, Acrobat Pro, ERP system.

• Excellent understanding of quality requirements, tolerances, and quality inspection processes.
• Effective problem-solving skills. Must possess a strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy/consistency.
• Have a knowledge of experience with an ERP system (EFI PACE a plus)
• Familiar with common inspection tools, - densitometer, spectrophotometer, paper caliper, etc.
• Follow Lahlouh ISO Quality Procedures and Work Instructions, and complete forms and checklists as necessary
• Follow Lahlouh policies outlined in the company handbook
• Work extended hours, as business needs dictate
• Perform other duties as required
• Attend company and departments production meetings

Position Specific Skills & Competencies:

• Print industry knowledge and familiarity.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand written detailed Job Ticket instructions. Ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and lack of required information.
• Understanding of printed product Color, Substrate, Bindery and Finishing characteristics.
• Understanding of “industry acceptable standards” for the above.
• Review, follow, and question information provided – require clarity and consistency and ensure the conformity of product.
• Requires the use for label software (e.g., bartender or similar) to create custom design labels to include bar code types e.g., Code 128, 39 Universal etc. – along with use of thermal and digital printers.
• Attend production meetings and be prepared to answer questions regarding jobs as well as communicate material needs to meet schedules.
• Responsible for selecting, sorting samples for consistency.
• Understanding the matching of product regarding color and quality.
• Understanding of complicated kitting jobs. Matrix kitting.
• Understanding of Mailing jobs processes (such as Letter Shop Instructions, Match Mailing.)
• Managerial, supervisory, or coaching experience is preferred and desired.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk up to approximately 50% of the time and able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Lifting is moderate

Education

• High school graduate/GED
• BS/AA or College coursework preferred.

Salary Range

• $25-32/hour
