Quality Control Technician
Job Description
The Quality Control Tech is responsible for performing routine Quality Control tests on new incoming shipments of raw materials, in process and final test of reagents and products following the standard methods and procedures. Reviews data obtained for compliance to specifications and reports abnormalities/discrepancies.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Perform incoming, in process and finish product inspections, completing all records and releasing materials in timely manner
- Contribute and assist with test method or inspection process transfer to manufacturing
- Assist with reagent preparation and qualifications
- Verify that data is properly entered into laboratory inventory system
- Maintain and update QC Records, QC documentation (raw material specification, reagent qualification, and QC testing), Cleaning and Maintenance Records
- Document all deviations from the established performance specifications as needed
- Follows/Ensures GLP (good laboratory practices) and GMP (good manufacturing practices) compliance
- Submit Non-Conformance Repots and support investigations
- Perform analytical, molecular and biochemical assays according to business needs
- Review and Release of completed Batch Records
- Keep manufacturing and quality leadership informed of the status of assigned QC processes.
- Support the investigation of product failures and customer complaints.
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related science discipline
- Minimum two years of experience in a Quality Control role at FDA regulated or ISO 13484 certified industry
- Proficient in use of pipette and repeater
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills and team-oriented
- Experience performing raw materials, in-line and finished product inspections.
- Experience assisting with investigations, root cause analysis, and reports.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with NanoDrop, LC-MS, plate readers (SpectraMax and EnVision), centrifuge, gel imager, gel stainer, Analytical SEC, Analytical Chromatographer (SEC) Gel Electrophoresis, LCMS.
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $55,000 - $65,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
