The Quality Data Coordinator works closely with the Quality Improvement Manager to oversee and perform Quality Improvement review duties consisting of data abstraction, and data submission according to established guidelines by CMS, The Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards. Responsible for ensuring management and accuracy of regulatory quality data measures with Kaweah Health's vendor. Facilitates new regulatory quality measure implementations, keeping all stakeholders informed. Monitors and coordinates with ISS for Meaningful Use Customization of Clinical Quality Measures implementation and accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education
Required:Certification in coding, health information, or quality within one year of hire/transfer.
Preferred: Associate's Degree in Computer Science or Healthcare related field
Experience
Required: Two years health care related experience
Preferred:

Clinical chart abstraction experience

Quality improvement experience

Data management experience

Direct experience with any external registry data coordination
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Power Point.
Written and oral communication skills.
Medical terminology knowledge.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential

The Quality Data Coordinator Performs chart abstraction, analysis, and data entry to support various regulatory and quality improvement initiatives at Kaweah Health.

Using appropriate tools and internal/external databases, identifies and benchmarks relevant performance metrics and resolves data discrepancies.

The Quality Data Coordinator provides a wide range of support to the Quality team by collecting data, collaborating with all team members on priorities identified by the department leadership.

As directed by leadership ensures data accuracy, completion, and timely submission of data to appropriate vendors.

Stays up to date with CMS & TJC specification updates. Shares this information with appropriate leadership and teams.

Participates in workgroup’s activities and provides input on relevant findings for improvement.

As directed by leadership participates with eCQM (electronic Quality Measures) data submission in partnership with ISS.

Prepares reports/graphs for Manager/Director for submission to Kaweah Health

committees/workgroups.

Understands the Continued Quality improvement process and applies it in performing everyday duties.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

Performs other duties as assigned

Pay Range

$22.48 -$33.72
