About you:

The Quality Educator is responsible for providing on-going support and education of the Quality Improvement (“QI”) staff, Provider Relations department, providers, and their office staff regarding Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) (Merit-based Incentive Payment System (“MIPS”), HEDIS/Stars and patient experience metrics. The role includes the creation of training programs and engaging and informative training materials. The Quality Educator must build strong working relationships with the Provider Relations department and Operational Leaders to ensure engagement around quality improvement processes and appropriate relaying of quality improvement information.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determines priorities and method of completing daily workload to ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely manner
  • Provides consultation, leadership, and expertise to internal management in the planning, developing and delivery of education on quality improvement, MIPS and HEDIS/Stars
  • Assesses the educational needs of the Provider Relations department staff, Operations leaders, providers and their staff and develops programs to meets those needs
  • Creates and updates training programs and engaging and informative presentations and other training materials that are geared to the specific audience to educate QI staff, Provider Relations department staff, Operations leaders, providers and their staff
  • Attends Provider Relations department meetings, Operations meetings and meetings with providers and staff to deliver the training presentations and materials, and performs follow-up to ensure that information provided was understood
  • Assess the effectiveness of the training materials and sessions and modifies the presentations, materials and delivery as needed, always keeping a solution-oriented mindset
  • Maintains a strong working relationship with the Provider Relations department and Operations leaders
  • Serves as a subject matter specialist regarding MIPS and HEIDS/ Stars and technical resource to ensure that data collection and reporting is complete and accurate
  • Provides training and support for staff that perform medical record review and data entry into the CareMax Quality Department
  • Provides training and support to coding staff to ensure there are processes in place for the coding and billing of diagnoses and CPT codes related to quality metrics
  • Provides support to the patient experience teams in the training of the Provider Relations department and Operations leaders
  • Collaborates with interdepartmental or cross-functional teams for assigned projects
  • Performs other duties as requested

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of MIPS and HEDIS/Quality experience with acquired progressive responsibility
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to achieve priorities with limited/minimal supervision
  • In depth knowledge of MIPS, Stars metrics, HEDIS specifications, CAHPS and HOS
  • Knowledge and working experience with ICD10CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS official coding guidelines
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout the United States, including and not limited to driving between site locations and air travel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to allow relationship building
