Job Summary
MycoWorks is seeking a person to fill the role of Quality Manager. This position is not a remote or hybrid role. This position is required to adapt to the work culture of Mycoworks and continue embracing the MycoWay culture among the employees in the Quality department.Â
This role will be responsible for leading the implementation and management of the site Quality Management System, QC microbiology, environment monitoring, quality control, and material testing.Â
Responsibilities
- Ensuring manufacturing products and processes meet minimum standards of qualityÂ
- Managing the development and implementation of a site quality management system (QMS)
- Driving the implementation of quality system metrics such as daily management setting, quality incident elimination, quality behavioral observation system, risk assessment, and prediction, etc.Â
- Overseeing the management of raw materials, in-process, and plasticized material testingÂ
- Devising and reviewing specifications for products or processesÂ
- Ensuring a robust environmental monitoring and cleaning program in place
- Understanding customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Eliminating product quality not up to the standards and finding the root causes
- Managing the team and talent developmentÂ
- Providing coaching and mentoring team members for personal and professional developmentÂ
- Reporting site process and product quality performance and issues on a regular basis
- Working closely with cross-functional teams on projects such as new processes or product development, process changes, continuous improvement, etc.Â
- Providing recommendations on improving product quality to the site management team based on statistical data analysis Â
- Driving changes for better product quality resultsÂ
- Executing all project tasks as assigned
FUNCTIONAL EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Required Job Qualifications
- 5-10 years of quality assurance and quality control in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in material science, quality assurance, engineering, or equivalentÂ
- Minimum 3+ years of people management experience Â
- Strong organizational and leadership skillsÂ
- Experience in material manufacturing processes such as textile, polymer, and leather materials is a plus
- Experience in liquid or solid fermentation manufacturing processes is a plus Â
- Experience in food or consumer products manufacturing is a plus
- A good understanding of basic microbiology is a plusÂ
- Experience in developing quality management systems from the ground up for new manufacturing siteÂ
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skill
- Excellent working knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods, and data reporting
- Capable of presenting data and providing data interpretationÂ
- Successful managerial experience of a team (the ability to set goals, delegate work, and follow up results)Â
- Uphold positive thinking and good work ethic
- Excellent capability with MS Office / GSuite toolsÂ
- Highly adaptable to the dynamics of a fast manufacturing environmentÂ
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally occasionally if requestedÂ
Salary: $100,000 - $113,000
