Quality Manager

Blue Square Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team, overseeing the production of high-quality swimming pool equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastics manufacturing and/or electronics manufacturing (LED or other lighting technologies). This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet stringent industry standards, and will develop quality control and quality assurance processes. Ultimately, this role will lead the organization to ISO certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Collaborates with engineering to ensure that product designs are feasible and meet quality standards (Built in Quality).
• Focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining systems and procedures that ensure products meet quality standards.
• Works on improving supplier quality performance and reducing risks associated with supply chain quality.
• Drives initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall quality performance.
• Creates the Quality Management System (QMS) for the organization
• Creates documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and compliance with the quality standards.
• Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations (NSF, UL, FCC, VGBA), and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conducts root cause analysis and works with the team to implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.
• Develops and implements quality plans, including process controls, testing protocols, and inspection criteria for new product introductions.
• Designs and deploys visual management systems, including dashboards, visual controls, and performance boards, to track key metrics and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of quality management experience 
• A technical degree in quality or engineering 
• Experience with Lean manufacturing
• Practical application experience with:
• Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Product Part Approval Process (PPAP)
• Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA)

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and Lean/6-Sigma
• RCCA, 8-D, or other problem-solving techniques required.
• Experience standing up a QMS.
