Quality Manager

PURPOSE: 

A well-known automotive supplier is currently seeking a strong quality manager to oversee all facets of quality assurance/control. This is a hands-on, extremely fast-paced position requiring the ideal candidate to have good problem solving, organization, communication, and management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must serve as a customer contact on quality issues.

• Must train employees in the analysis of basic causes of customer complaints and returns, and participate in initiating corrective action.
• Must maintain and update Visual Aids as needed.
• Mus provide technical training to quality department personnel.
• Must create work instructions and operating procedures for new or changed processes, as well as rework instructions for non-standard operations.
• Must interpret standards, specifications, quality requirements, and quality planning for in-plant customer inspections.
• Must contribute to preparation of control plans for each part to be used during production to maintain product quality.
• Must assure that the quality level of the finished product meets the customer’s expectations.
• Evaluates the performance of Quality department personnel.
• Evaluates Quality department equipment and labor needs.
• Maintains accurate up-to-date inspection and test records as prescribed by the quality plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Manufacturing or Engineering or the equivalent of four (4) years of related experience.
• Must have a minimum five (5) years’ experience in Quality Management in a multi-shift manufacturing environment. Experience with automotive customers a must.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must have thorough understanding of ISO/TS16949, APQP, PPAP/FMEA, SPC, GRR, GDT, and Corrective/Preventive Action.
• Must be computer literate with ability to work all Microsoft Office programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:

• • Location: Cottondale, AL
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Core Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Weekly Overtime: As needed.
  • Weekend Work: As needed.
  • Assignment Start: ASAP
