Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing Excella's quality and compliance requirements. This includes maintaining the company's existing certifications and credentials, such as International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2015, ISO 20000-1:2018, ISO 27001:2022 and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Development (v3.0) - Level 3, as well as compliance in areas such as policy management, insurance management, and state registration management.
Responsibilities
- Quality Management
- Owns organizational responsibility for satisfying all quality-related requirements and ensuring successful maintenance of quality certificationsÂ
- Works directly with leaders throughout Excella to establish quality objectives and plans
- Leads or supports all quality-related initiatives throughout Excella, as appropriate
- Responsible for the oversight of the integrated QMS
- Administer the Process Asset Library by maintaining the configuration of controlled quality documentation.
- Attend supporting meetings and evaluate business processes’ adherence to the QMS and collect necessary evidence
- Develop, implement, and communicate quality standards, processes, and procedures to ensure ISO 9001 and CMMI compliance in conjunction with corporate quality objectives.
- Lead and perform analysis of quality metrics and analytics outputs to identify key issues, trends, and potential root causes that point to improvement opportunities.
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations to the Senior Management team about process/improvements, process controls, data analysis, continuous improvement, corrective actions, and other topics as requested.
- Make recommendations, plans, and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Audits
- Perform internal program audits as required by ISO certifications.
- Schedule, respond, and coordinate external audits with registrars, appraisers, and regulatory agencies.
- Respond and facilitate the resolution and closure of any corrective action requests, including internal and customer-driven corrective actions.
- Business Development support
- Provide quality-related expertise as needed to proposal efforts, primarily focused on explaining Excella's quality assurance approach and developing and validating QA surveillance plans
- Vendor Management (suppliers)
- Accountable for managing all non-client facing vendors.
- Create and manage a vendor qualification process and ensure it’s followed for all vendors
- Provide RFP process support internally
- Collect annual evaluations of the Excella team that engaged each vendor
- Capture actions stemming from evaluations and follow-up until complete
- Compliance Management
- Insurance renewals, policy management, and audits
- State registration management
- Ensure annual review of policies are conducted by each owning area
- Additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of overall Quality experience
- Required certifications
- CMMI "Foundations of Capability" certified
- ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certified
- ISO 20000-1 Internal/Lead Auditor certified
- ISO 27001 Internal/Lead Auditor certified
- Good understanding of CMMI standards v3.0 Model
- Good understanding of Agile – Scrum, Kanban methodology
- Knowledge and experience applying project management best practices to drive improvements in project consistency and performance.
- Knowledge and experience with quality management principles and techniques.
- Ability to analyze, define, improve and document business processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) and the capabilities within the DORA capability catalog is encouraged
- Preferred:Â
- Experience with SharePoint, Office365, and LeanKit
- Other certifications or specialized training related to quality management systems - ISO standards – 9001, 20000 and 27000 and CMMI v3.0 DEV Level 3
