Quality Testing Lead Specialist

Job Description:
Position Summary
The Quality Testing Lead Specialist will be responsible for hands on testing and delivering complex software requirements across multiple applications to accomplish business outcomes. The Test Lead will ensure that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ongoing appraisal of regression test suites for accuracy, coverage, and maintenance. Responsible for leading, guiding and producing effective test plans and procedures. Develops detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases. When part of a Scrum team, ensures stories are well refined and contain clear acceptance criteria. Ensures in-scope and out-of-scope items are clearly identified during test planning. Directs and implements test framework for the team. Leads test case reviews, works with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure appropriate test coverage. Identifies automation opportunities and develops test automation for applicable test types. Assists in identifying and managing sensitive test data; helps condition and generate data while ensuring compliance requirements are met at all levels. Delegates test support activities while simultaneously participating in test execution including manual and automated tests, and recording results. Reports issues and defects along with the appropriate background information for review. Participates in triaging reported issues/defects and assists with resolving or escalating them as necessary. Creates and manages traceability. Traces tests forwards/backwards through the development lifecycle and back to requirements. Uses testing tools and follows processes to complete certification in any given environment and assists with fulfillment of necessary steps required to promote code base. Maintains and catalogs test suites across various test types (Smoke, Integration, Regression, etc.
Required Skills

• 10 or more years of hands-on experience in testing Web based, ETL, Mainframe applications
• Experience with query tools including SQL, DB2, COBOL, JCL
• Proven experience with JIRA, ALM/QC, qTest
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with quick adaptation to new technologies, methodologies, and systems
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to convey message to a broad audience
• Ability to work in a cross functional, collaborative team environment
• Seeks out best practices to find opportunities for improvements in test execution process

Desired Skills

• Experience with Test Automation, Scripting and Regression testing
• Experience with defect management systems such as ALM/QC or JIRA
• Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Working knowledge with QA automation tools such as Selenium, TOSCA, QTP
• Functional Knowledge of Banking / Credit Domain, Global Tax Lots/ Cost Basis
