Quantitative Developer Intern

Garda is looking to hire an intern to join the trading team in New York. The candidate will be supporting portfolio managers, helping implement solutions for our trading and risk systems. In the course of the internship, you will be exposed to the analytics used in trading, working closely with a mentor who will provide guidance and feedback.

Additional responsibilities for this role will include (but not be limited to):

• Assist in the development of data driven strategies to complement investment decisions
• Support the team’s research process, including data collection and analysis, prototyping, back testing, and performance monitoring

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in statistics, financial engineering, applied math, finance, computer science, or similar quantitative or technical discipline
• Exceptional quantitative & programming skills (Python & SQL)
• Knowledge and interest in financial markets
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve
