Job Description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or Finance or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a Data Analyst or quantitative role.
  • Experience with statistical Software (e.g., Python or R), database languages (e.g. SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or Power BI).


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in Data Engineering, Data Analysis or a related field.
  • Experience in high data volume environments in software, internet, media or telecom industries.
  • Experience effectively partnering with technical, business, and operations colleagues.
  • Understanding and willingness to both teach others and constantly learn new analytical techniques and coding frameworks, etc.
  • Ability to draw conclusions from data and present results or recommendations to executive audiences.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgment.


About the job

In this role, you will be a self-starter who is equally comfortable with writing code to mine insights out of Google's internal ads data, analyzing external data to understand the motivations and decision-making process of YouTube's users and advertisers, and communicating findings to senior executives.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support and make progress to drive impact even under an ambiguous environment.
  • Proactively research new ways of analyzing data to unlock actionable insights.
  • Distill and communicate the essence of your technical work to audiences of all levels and across multiple functional areas while formulating robust, actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of the analytical frameworks, tools, skills, and culture which drive impact for Finance and YouTube.
  • Work with a team of Product Managers, Engineers and Analysts responsible for advancing YouTube Ads business growth.
