General Description:

HRL Laboratories is looking for a creative and motivated candidate to join a world-class team of scientists and engineers developing next-generation technologies.


Essential Duties:

In this role, you will write and maintain scientific modeling software, generate simulation data, and analyze numerical results for quantum devices such as semiconductor spin qubits. Your work will draw on and extend your capabilities in solid-state physics, quantum information science, and scientific code development.


Required Skills:

Coursework or equivalent experience in quantum mechanics, computational physics/scientific software development, solid state physics, semiconductor devices, numerical analysis, and/or parallel programming.

Experience in physics-based modeling and numerical simulation, preferably including knowledge of high-performance computing techniques.

Background in collaborative code development utilizing multiple computer languages, including C++ and Python.

You must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with fellow team members, present ideas and results in technical presentations, and contribute to written research reports.


Required Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to spend extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with other team members, excellent problem solving skills


Special Requirements:

U.S. citizenship is required.

Active security clearance or ability to apply for security clearance.


Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $76,530 - $93,320 + bonus + benefits..

Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
