We are seeking a Quotation Specialist at our facility in Urbana, OH. The individual in this position will utilize technical knowledge to prepare quotation packages based on the product content. Must possess the ability to interpret customer requirements, match products to customer specifications and ensures that the quote is technically compatible and competitive by communicating with the Sales Representative to determine/clarify order.

Primary Activities/Duties: 

• Apply product knowledge and knowledge of manufacturing capabilities to quote effective solutions for customers and Rittal.
• Complete critical fields within SAP, generate cost calculations, determine lead times, and assign quotations to appropriate sales contact to enable a quote to follow up from outside sales
•  Use discretion and judgment to ensure effective return on time/effort invested for cost and pricing calculations.
• Support and maintain quote tools and SAP system configuration.
• Monitor customer applications and give feedback to Product Management of reoccurring configuration/part requests.
• Coordinate with Sourcing and Procurement to quote special items that must be supplied by an outside vendor.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to provide reduced lead times at the time of quotation.
• Support custom orders by providing clarification when necessary and support to develop alternatives when problems occur
• Participate in Training to gain advanced knowledge of products, selling skills, customer relationship skills, and others as needed.

Knowledge& Experience: 

• Associate’s degree in a Technical field; Mechanical/Electrical or Business preferred.
• Experience in manufacturer and seller of an industrial product dealing with distribution and direct customers is preferred.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience with SAP, AutoCAD, or Visio is preferred.
