SUMMARY:

If you are looking for a new and challenging role and an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you as a Quotation Specialist! Based in Appleton Group's HQ in Houston, TX, you will work with a team of dedicated and accomplished commercial quotation specialist to develop & sustain productive customer relationships by adding value to the customer from the quotations phase through execution.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Interpret and convert electrical schematics/specifications into quotes per customer RFQs.
  • Interface with internal departments to develop timely offers with the value creation to both the customer and the company
  • Responsible for managing customer ETO (Engineered-To-Order) follow up and ownership as it moves through the internal manufacturing processes
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions
  • Continuous monitoring and updating tracking programs, charts, and monitoring devices to communicate current front-end activities
  • Ability to read customer specifications and offer products that meet customer needs and requirements
  • Assume responsibility and drive ownership of customer requests / issues until resolved
  • Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our customers

  • Must be able to expedite ETO product by working with various departments involved with the Front-end processes
  • Working understanding of basic financial costing (variable, Gross Profit, Margins, etc.)

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Technical degree with the ability to interpret electrical schematics or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Electrical Distribution Equipment and Industrial Automation Systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Electro-Mechanical Industry.
  • Experience working in an engineered to ordered environment. Working with products used in a hazardous environment.
  • Ability to manage relationships and expectation on various levels.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant work experience.
  • Technical Inside Sales experience
  • Have a working knowledge of NEC, IECEx, ATEX standards
  • Experience using ERPs (Oracle)
  • Prior management experience including direct reports
