As an R&D Operation Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving world class effectiveness and efficiency across an international R&D team. Your efforts will help customers develop and produce next generation materials and products. This staff role is to provide strategic guidance to the leadership, offering expert advice to decision-making and long-term planning. It does not include direct people management.

A day in the Life:

  • Lead Strategy Deployment and guide operational and metrics.
  • Implement PPI (Practical Process Improvement) Business System (Lean principles) to boost efficiency.
  • Foster collaboration between R&D departments for process improvements.

Keys to Success:

  • Proven analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities across all management and engineering levels.
  • Capability to build and maintain working relationships across boundaries.

Education/ Experience

  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a STEM Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in developing high-performance electro-mechanical systems or subsystems for capital equipment or related industries.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to keep the intent in mind while working with an imperfect data.
  • Proficiency in Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Sophisticated Excel and Power BI knowledge

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This role will involve working with teams and individually, conducting root cause analyses, and flexibility to travel as the need arises to work effectively and build cross-team relationships.
