Put your analytical mindset to work as a Rate Filing Analyst for CNA Insurance. You will serve as a key team member for Commercial Pricing gaining exposure to, and partnering closely with professionals in Actuarial, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance and Technology. In this role, you will work on major projects from start to finish-strategizing, collaborating, preparing and completing rate filings across various Commercial products including but not limited to Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, General Liability, Commercial Multi-Peril, and Equipment Breakdown.
Successful candidates are detail-oriented, fiercely accountable, and seek to continuously learn. This role sits within the Actuarial department, but is a non-actuary role that does not require actuarial exam taking or certifications.
In this position, you will enjoy a hybrid work schedule in our Chicago office determined by the needs of the business that typically consists of one day per week in one of our CNA offices with the option to work the remainder of your week remotely.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Creates rate proposals, policyholder impact calculations, filing exhibits and rate level indications to support rate filings.
- Prepares complete filing package, which includes state filing forms, tabular exhibits, and supporting materials for regulatory filings.
- Collaborates with business partners to influence filing strategy and rate implementation.
- Responds to regulatory agencies' and bureaus' questions/objections after researching and resolving issues with business units.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements enhancements to team tools that improve the efficiency and accuracy of assigned work.
- Evaluates and monitors rating agency circulars and bureau bulletins to inform and influence pricing strategies.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Director or above.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the manipulation of data and creation of tables within Excel.
- Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and other business related software.
- Broad knowledge of insurance operations, rate filings and ratemaking.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance or related field.
- Typically entry level to four years of related analyst experience. Experience in insurance operations, actuarial pricing, internal audit, compliance, preparing P&C filings, and/or data reporting, a plus.
- Internal applicants at both the 220 and 240 levels will be considered, position level will be determined based on qualifications.
