Job Description

BITCO Corporation is currently seeking a Rater to join our Business Services team in Davenport, IA. BITCO provides quality property and casualty insurance services to specialized industries including construction, forest products, and oil gas. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Position Summary:

Working as part of the Business Services team within our home office, this position is responsible for processing commercial lines policies/quotes through an automated policy issuance/quoting system. Transactions include quotes, renewals, and endorsements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Read and comprehend written documents including insurance and policy terms and other factual information
• Review applications and requests for policy changes to ensure information is accurate in order to complete the rating process; and reports to the Underwriter accordingly
• Rate policies and changes in such policies, utilizing the company's rating/publishing system
• Assist in contacting Underwriting personnel to discuss quotes, renewals, applications, changes and underwriting issues
• Maintain proficiency in the use of the company's rating/publishing system
• Calculate premiums on endorsements, cancellations, and payment plans
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous Property/Casualty Commercial Lines Insurance experience preferred
• Strong math skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding and application of Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
