Job Description

BITCO Corporation is currently seeking a Rater to join our Business Services team in Davenport, IA. BITCO provides quality property and casualty insurance services to specialized industries including construction, forest products and oil gas.

Position Summary:

Working as part of the Business Services team, this within our home office, this position is responsible for processing commercial lines policies/quotes through an automated policy issuance/quoting system. Transactions include quotes, new business, renewals, and endorsements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Read and comprehend written documents including insurance and policy terms and other factual information
• Review applications and requests for policy changes to ensure information is accurate in order to complete the rating process; and reports to the Underwriter accordingly
• Rate policies and changes in such policies, utilizing the company's rating/publishing system
• Assist in contacting Underwriting personnel to discuss quotes, renewals, applications, changes and underwriting issues
• Maintain proficiency in the use of the company's rating/publishing system
• Calculate premiums on endorsements, cancellations, and payment plans
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous Commercial Lines Insurance experience nice to have, but not needed
• Strong math skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding and application of Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
