You will be developing and implementing Mondelez's data governance framework within our Research and Development (R&D) division. The Data Governance Lead will be a pivotal role contributing to and implementing data governance activities to cross-functional business domains. You will be collaborating with the central Data Governance group to establish policies, procedures, standards, and new ways of working that will assist with advancing R&D's capabilities and bringing improvements in data management practices to Mondelez and unlocking business value through data.
How you will contribute
You will:
Facilitate the R&D Data Leadership Team on promoting a mature and data-driven culture within R&D, working with the business stakeholders to educate on the importance of data governance and data governance roles, such as Stewardship, Ownership, etc.
Manage transition and knowledge transfer from current Data Governance Lead, to be fully self-sufficient from 2025 and onwards.
Lead, implement and evolve a comprehensive data governance framework in R&D that supports the improvement and maintenance of R&D assets in line with our strategic objectives for our data.
Partner with projects, collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues, manage and influence stakeholders to ensure that we have a mature and well understood approach to governing and managing our data.
Work with business units to confirm who will act as Data Stewards and Owners and with what scope.
You will support our Data Trustee, Data Owners, and Data Stewards in aligning with the Data Governance Framework and evolving our Data Strategy.
Define process maps, onboarding and training processes, knowledge transfer and conduct workshops, understand, and document business requirements, identify critical data elements, etc.
Assist in establishing repeatable and streamlined processes for maintaining the Business Glossary, Business Rules, and Metadata Repository to a high standard.
Produce key artefacts that form the basis of a successful data governance program for the organization (based on our existing Data Governance Charter).
Work with the Digital & Data Fitness team to develop and implement data governance training programs. Work closely with business units and IT to monitor data quality, to highlight and facilitate remediation of data issues, to assure that it is accurate, complete, and properly managed.
Define, and maintain the strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the data governance practices (making necessary adjustments to accommodate evolving regulations and industry best practices), This will be performed in conjunction with business units and central Data Governance team.

An in-depth knowledge of data governance/data management concepts, approaches, methodologies, and tools. Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK is considered an asset (a CDMP certification is a plus).
Understanding of organizational data maturity and how to conduct an assessment.
Experience in designing and implementing data governance programs, including data quality and data classification.
Experience in establishing and implementing roles, responsibilities, and accountability e.g., Data Owners / Stewards.
Implementation experience of business glossaries, data dictionaries, Data Quality solutions, data catalogues, lineage, master data and metadata management.

Education / Certifications:
A BS in a technical field, including Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, etc.
Job specific requirements:
At least three years of experience in the Data Governance field - ideally with experience influencing leading and coordinating colleagues to change ways of working and to adopt new processes.
Experience in project planning/management and project governance is a strong plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
