The Engineer / Scientist I for Cytiva is responsible for performing experiments to test prototypes and to identify and confirm performance of our products. This will include analyzing and interpreting data and preparing publications.

This position is part of the Applications R&D department located in Westborough MA and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do: You will be part of a dynamic applications-driven R&D team:

• Performing experiments and generating data to support our current products and customers
• Screening prototypes for new product development, identifying the best outcomes for future innovation
• Exploring chromatography for process intensification and continuous bioprocessing

Who you are:

• Early career, or recent graduate looking to begin your career in bioprocessing
• Ready to work as a team to develop and execute complex scientific experiments
• Have an interest in hypotheses led science, the ability to make things work and the desire for continuous improvement
• Eager to learn and develop new skills across scientific disciplines

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: role

• Ability to travel occasionally to customers, conferences and internal meetings. 10% travel, overnight
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20lb

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Chromatography and ideally some experience of AKTA chromatography systems
• Knowledge of Affinity, IEX, HIC chromatography is a plus
• Statistical analysis, ideally with some experience of design of experiments (DOE)
• Familiarity with Minitab software is a plus
