What’s The Role About:

• Puffco is seeking a R&D Firmware Engineer intern with exceptional taste and immaculate attention to detail to join our team. You are driven by passion to learn more in your journey to master your craft. You cleverly balance Research and Design with firmware platforms and development tools. You want to be a part of a fine-tuned team that brings products to global markets and provides priceless experience in every step of the R&D firmware process.

Some things you will be responsible for:

• Work independently on new components for our diagnostic tool suite 
• Maintain and improve documentation 
• Assist engineers and the rest of the team with installing firmware and using the diagnostic tools 
• Participate in software design and code reviews 

Some qualifications and skills we need you to have:

• 3 or more years of undergraduate study in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering at a 4-year university 
• Proficient with Visual Studio Code or other IDE, Git, and general command line work 
• Experience with embedded programming, data acquisition, and/or building GUIs preferred 
• A portfolio of software projects 
• Experience running tests and documenting results 
• Interested in building and manufacturing products 
• Self-motivated and curious 
• Able to make independent decisions and justify them 
• Must be based in Los Angeles or able to commute easily 
• This is an internship for 3-6 months, starting ASAP; full time preferred but will consider part time 

Compensation:

This is a contract role with the opportunity to transition to employee, after an initial period

The budgeted compensation for this role for candidates based in CA is $25-30 hourly.
