Job Description

Tenet3 R&D staff explore cutting-edge solutions to hard computer science problems for internal and external customers. We are a team of machine learning engineers, software reverse engineers, and data scientists who collaborate across Tenet3 and with partners to create bleeding-edge systems for hard cybersecurity and cyber-systems analytics missions. R&D staff members are intelligent, self-motivated, deeply technical, creative, and collaborative.

We need your help to build advanced data analytics and machine learning systems that operate over representations of hardware, software, and cyber-physical systems for novel inference tasks. We make extensive use of PyTorch, very large compute nodes, and in-house developed cloud infrastructure to execute data processing, model training, validation, and model deployment pipelines at scale. Our machine learning models leverage the latest technology and research findings in graph/geometric learning, natural language processing, explainable AI, and visual QA.

You will prototype, scale, and deliver machine learning systems that address hard software, hardware, and cyber-physical systems security challenges that the Dept. of Defense and our commercial customers face. This position is a great fit for those wanting to work at the state-of-the-art to solve problems that matter. We value people who are comfortable knowing what they don’t know and are teachable, and those who exhibit the necessary traits to grow as a mentor and leader.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out comprehensive analyses on data at scale using modern ML and statistical techniques. Write and publish code implementing data science, statistical and machine learning algorithms.
  • Develop solution prototypes, technical demonstrations, and new capability to customers with small teams of R&D staff members.
  • Maintain a portfolio of solutions under development through issue planning and tracking, road mapping, testing, and progress assessment. Coordinate with engineers across the organization to team and translate prototypes into practical tools.
  • Create written and verbal internal and external communications for projects targeting relevant stakeholders.
  • Interface with leadership, customer, and project managers to craft project concepts, understand new project requirements, and to evaluate customer needs.

Travel requirement: minimal; up to 10%

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Dept of Defense top secret security clearance.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience (including undergrad or graduate academic research or engineering) in the fields of data science, ML, AI, statistics, or software analysis.
  • Proficiency with contemporary data science and machine learning tools in Python
  • Excellent writing, public speaking, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-player attitude, willing to accept from and offer direction to others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in CS, Math, Stats, Data Science or Engineering, or related field.
  • Solutions implementation on Amazon AWS cloud services.
  • Advanced ML model implementation, training and assessment using Pytorch.
  • Experiences demonstrating leadership capability.
  • Previously obtained a DoD or DoE Security Clearance.
