About the Role
Orchard is looking for a real estate Field Specialist to be an expert in home assessments (similar to a home inspection), listing management, and home showings. The Field Specialist plays a key role in our home acquisitions by assessing each home we consider purchasing, performing a general home assessment focused on home defects (ex: foundation and MEP) and cosmetic concerns. This teammate will also support Listings (pre-list and active) performing daily inspections and maintenance and support our customers in touring homes to find their dream home.
This is a full time role that will report into the Field Specialist Lead and will be based in the Houston Area.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Assess every home we consider purchasing, calling out issues with MEP, foundations, other common home deficiencies as well as cosmetic concerns as outlined by the GM.
- Walk Orchard designated homes during various stages of our process (Move Out, Post Concierge, Maintenance, etc) and call out Orchard specific concerns.
- Leverage mobile software to write up home assessments for each home including concise, detailed descriptions and photographs.
- Represent as an Orchard RE agent to tour our customers through homes to purchase
- Represent Orchard as cordial and professional when walking clients’ homes, showing up at the scheduled time.
- Respond to unscheduled same day requests to visit Orchard homes.
- Communicate professionally via Slack, email, Salesforce & other platforms with cross-department teammates.
- On occasion, perform routine and preventative maintenance and make minor home repairs (fixtures, carpentry, etc)
- Attend meetings (via Zoom) on a regular basis; usually 1 to 3 per week
We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have / Are:
- 2+ years of experience in home inspections and have expert knowledge in home inspections
- A Texas Real Estate License
- Skills needed to perform minor home repairs / maintenance.
- Strong work ethic - excels independently but also great in a team environment.
- Personable with a customer-first mentality
- Excellent at cross-functional teamwork & communication
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends
- Basic computer skills on mobile and desktop software platforms such as Zoom, Dropbox, Slack, Gmail and Google docs
