Rebar Machinist

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Rebar Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with various machining processes. Arebar machinistis responsible for cutting, bending, and shaping reinforcing steel (rebar) according to construction specifications. This role is critical in reinforcing concrete structures. The Machinist will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineers and other team members to ensure production efficiency and product quality. Responsibilities • Operate rebar machines (shear lines, benders, cutters) • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers to ensure accuracy in dimensions. • Interpret bar bending schedules (BBS) • Perform CAM programming for CNC operations, ensuring optimal machine performance. • Conduct routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise during production. • Collaborate with team members to improve machining processes and enhance productivity. • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Requirements • Rebar cutting and bending • Machine operation and maintenance • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers and bore gauges for quality assurance. • Experience with welding techniques is a plus but not mandatory. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
