Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Appraise, acquire, arrange, describe, preserve, and make available the archives of the Laboratories
- Maintain physical and intellectual control of the Laboratories' institutional collections using established archival methodologies
- Handle institutional, organizational, programmatic or facility records, including submittal, receipt, transfer, storage, research, retrieval, usage, and disposition
- Service as a steward to preserve institutional memory
- Research the corporate archival collection in response to legal holds, technical staff research, internal and external audit, Freedom of Information Acts (FOIA) requests, and investigative requests from a variety of external entities
- Work with various programs and employees to transfer historically significant collections into the Archives and collaborate with experts as necessary to review, analyze, and catalog all information according to National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) and SNL policies and procedures
- Set up and/or maintain systems of written, photographic, or video record cataloging, storage, and retrieval
- Establish and maintain relationships with NARA and DOE/NNSA to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Lead all aspects of and ensure transfer of permanent records to NARA
- Promote visibility and usage of the Archives through outreach, instruction, training, and presentations
- Partner with information technology professionals on the design and implementation of corporate and local information solutions for the long-term storage, preservation, and migration of digital records
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Archival Science, History, Museum Studies, or a related field plus five (5) years' experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field plus nine (9) years' experience or thirteen (13) years' experience
- Experience in processing archival collections
- Experience performing physical activities associated with an archival environment Ability to perform physical activities associated with an archival environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience working in a Records, History or Research Office within a government or corporate setting
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, or interpreting information to promote the development of the institutional records management program
- Experience with archival and preservation methodologies
- Familiarity with requirements and standard methodologies for electronic records management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational an analytical skill
- Experience designing outreach and training initiatives
- Experience in customer service, interpersonal, communication, presentation, and teaming skills
- Knowledge of Sandia's records management policies, practices, and procedures and knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements and risks affecting records management and administration
- Ability to demonstrate and practice Sandia values
