Job Description

ASRC Federal Mission Services is seekingRecords Management Specialists(RMS 3) to support our nationwide contract to provide the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with library and records management services. We are looking for records and information management professionals to support the EPA's first National Digitization Center in Edison, NJ. If you have experience in records management, production scanning or indexing, we would like to speak with you today.

• Preparing record sets for scanning including metadata quality assurance and records schedule assignment
• Perform quality assurance of scanned record images
• Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures, manuals, and records guidance;
• Prepare and deliver training presentations on Records Management (RM) basics and other RM-related topics to colleagues and possibly clients
• Responsible for destruction of temporary records or send off of permanent records to the Federal Record Center

Requirements

For this role, ASRC Federal staff will support the successful operation of a digitization center scanning records on-site at the EPA's location in Edison, NJ. • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of records management experience.
• NARA Federal Records Management Certification or equivalent on-line training is desired
• Experience with information technology as it relates to records, data centers, and digitization;
• Strong experience in Quality Assurance
• Experience with MS Office including Word, Excel (macro enabled workbooks), and PowerPoint
• Ability to work with a large team of staff and be able to communicate effectively, patiently, and courteously with all customers
• Self-motivated and highly organized with great attention to detail
• Customer service skills and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple on-going projects
• Permanent Residency or US Citizenship is required for the Public Trust clearance

Physical requirements: Full range of arm movement (e.g., lifting above the head), ability to do data entry, sit and stand for long periods of time, usage of step ladders to reach higher shelves, ability to lift at least 40 pounds in weight on a semi-daily basis, pushing or pulling up to 160 pounds of a cart, and the ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
