We are looking for Part-Time Recovery Coach Professionals (RCP) to work 20 hours per week providing opioid use disorder care coordination, including peer led support groups, one-on-one recovery coaching sessions to patients offered via telehealth. This position is hourly and 100% remote and will report to the Recovery Coach Professional Manager.
Hours may fall on evenings and weekends for coverage.Â
You can expect to:Â
- Provide recovery coaching primarily to patients struggling with opioid use disorder in 100% telehealth settings.
- Facilitate peer-led support groups several times a week offering support, hope, strength and experience to people struggling with OUD.Â
- Assist in care coordination between patients, Bicycle Health providers, patients’ primary care providers and other specialty mental health services to facilitate effective patient-centered, team-based care.
- Address patients' concerns particularly during early treatment and periods of instability, track treatment response, and answer questions related to the treatment process.
- Teach, model, and encourage self-advocacy and empowerment for all patients.Â
- Research and facilitate referrals to community services and additional treatment programs based on patient need.
- Deliver recovery supports utilizing best practices of recovery coaching to help patients with recovery.
- Connect patients to a larger community of care.
- Follow up recovery coaching with patients as requested.
- Engage in recovery planning with patients.
- Serve as a recovery ambassador.
- Systematically track recovery coaching response, outreach efforts, and outcomes.
- Participate in huddles with providers, social work, and other members of the care team.
- Participate in ongoing recovery coach training, education and performance support.
- Document all care coordination and patient encounters in the EMR and provide timely updates to multi-disciplinary team members.
- Master our technology suite including but not limited to FreshWorks, Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System Athena, in order to interact with team members and complete daily work.
Skills/Experience we’re looking for:
- Certification via CCAR (Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery) Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) certification (or equivalent), or a willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Experience with the addiction recovery process.
- Understanding of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and practices.
- Familiarity with support services, resources and recovery community.
- Capable of building an effective coach-client relationship.
- Demonstrated skill in actively listening, asking good questions, awareness of self and treating people as resources.
- Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Availability to work different shifts as necessary.
- Cross-cultural skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations.
- Exceptional computer skills including data entry and tracking.
- Strong customer service ethic essential.
Preferred Qualities we’re looking for:
- Personal experience with addiction in family member(s) or loved one(s) and/or 2 years of lived continuous recovery experience from any Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
