Summary
Who May Apply? US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of Baumholder, Germany (not ordinarily resident in Germany). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Germany.
This position is located at the USAG Rheinland-Pfalz, Baumholder Aquatics Center, Baumholder, Germany.

- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A probation period of one year may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Be able to obtain within 30 days and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED from a nationally recognized agency
- Facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration or installation offered training (i.e. Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty.
- All required certifications must obtained within specified time and kept current. Note: Failure to complete the required certification will result in removal from employment.
- A pre-employment medical examination is required; Lifeguards must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking.
- Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period
- The incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
Qualifications
- Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications.
- Must be willing to obtain within 30 days and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED from a nationally recognized agency.
- All required certifications must be obtained within specified time and kept current.
- Work hours which may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty.

There is no education requirement for this position.

If selected at a trainee level, promotion to the higher pay band level will be noncompetitive upon meeting all eligibility and qualification requirements, performing higher level duties, completion of training agreement, and the recommendation of the supervisor
