The Recruiter I is responsible for collaborating with management to meet recruitment goals by filling open positions with talented candidates. This includes sourcing candidates on LinkedIn, Indeed, and other social media sites, screening candidates, coordinating the interview process, and negotiating offers, all while ensuring candidates have a positive experience with MEMIC.
- Collaborate with VP, Human Resources and HR Business Partners in the design and implementation of overall recruitment strategy.
- Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; provide organization information, opportunities, and benefits; make presentations; maintain rapport.
- While working with the departmental management, create and update job descriptions and associated competencies.
- Effectively recruit and source applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups, job sites, colleges, career fairs and social media for entry and mid-level positions.
- Determine applicant qualifications by screening applicants; analyze responses; verify references; compare qualifications to job requirements.
- Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interview applicants on consistent set of qualifications, and then provide the appropriate screening information that was obtained during the process to the hiring manager with recommendations on whether to move forward with the candidate(s).
- Coordinate pre-employment process, extend offer and initiate on-boarding process.
- Enter employee changes and job codes into the human capital management system (HCM).
- Schedule interviews with management; arrange travel, lodging, and meals; and escort applicant to interviews.
- Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of one of year of proven recruiting experience.
- Ability to use innovative recruitment platforms, including text recruitment and various recruitment software packages would be preferred.
- Direct experience with various selection processes such as phone interviewing, pre-employment testing, reference checks, etc.
- Familiar with HR databases and applicant tracking systems. Experience with Greenhouse is preferred.
- Excellent people skills as well as effective communication and people skills.
- Strong customer service skills including ability to listen and comprehend requests and requirement of customers and communicate clearly.
- Strong independent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Must be initiative-taking, able to work independently and results driven.
- Organized and detail oriented a must.
