Dal-Tile is currently seeking an eager and motivated Rectification & Polishing Manager to join our TEAM! As a Rectification & Polishing Lines Manager, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as evaluates new process technologies and advises Plant Manager on technical operations.

Primary Objective

Directs production efficiencies, production processes, quality control, technical operations, process reliability and improvements of the rectification and polishing lines.

Major Function and Scope

  • Ensures safe and healthy working conditions and ensures an organized work environment.
  • Evaluates new process technologies and advises Plant Manager on technical operations by analyzing process conditions, materials being used, and by continuously improving upon these processes.
  • Evaluates consumption of tools, equipment, and other resources to determine utilization and upgrades of such.
  • Works with Maintenance to identify needs relating to the preventive and corrective of the department machines. Works with Maintenance to determine action plan/s on existing and new projects. Supervises and troubleshoots technical issues and technical developments of machines within rectification and polishing lines.
  • Ensures corrective measures are taken to maintain product quality standards.
  • Supervises process improvement research and new product introduction and monitors the research of new materials to improve processes and reduce costs.
  • Directs quality control issues and coordinates corrective actions when audits reveal operations outside control plan specifications.
  • Resolves technical problems with regards to finished product.
  • Establishes standards and assists Plant Manager with process improvements with success measured by process reliability.
  • Coordinates and oversees necessary training identified in technical areas using internal and external resources.
  • Serves as liaison between R&D / Marketing / Production / Maintenance regarding new product start-ups.
  • Establishes, maintains, and analyzes budgets, records, and other controls to keep costs at a minimum consistent with efficient operations.
  • Coaches and reviews performance of direct reports.

Experience and Knowledge Required

3+ years supervisory/operations experience. Strong technical background in the tile/ceramic industry and previous rectification, polishing line experience.

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of ceramic industry.

Competencies

Core competencies include strong communications skills, organization, data analysis and interpretation, and ability to prioritize. Ability to train, coach and problem solve. Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
