Reference Data Product Business Relationship Manager

Job Description As a Business Relationship Manager, you will bring together an understanding of the needs of the business with expertise in reference data standards and principles to evolve and improve our reference data product capabilities. You will succeed by establishing strong stakeholder relationships and building awareness & trust in our reference data offering while ensuring alignment between consumer needs and the firm's data governance policies. You will deliver business value by driving the evolution of the reference data product to meet the needs of data consumers while mitigating data risk.
Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders from aligned business group
• Provide Reference Data Product solutions based on a deep understanding of the business function and its reference data needs
• Develop Reference Data as an Asset, capable of delivering measurable value to the aligned business group
• Liaise with Reference Data Product Solutions and Portfolio Management teams to size business solution efforts and secure funding in the book of work
• Build business case for proposed solutions to demonstrate business value added through implementation of reference data solutions
• Manage and develop junior staff

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of prior experience in a relationship management / account manager / consulting role in the Financial Services industry
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience required
• Demonstrated thought leadership in one or more reference data domains, with proven ability to design and deliver strategic solutions to data challenges
• A deep understanding of the data and regulatory risks impacting our reference data consumers, and the governance controls required to manage those risks
• Strong data analytics skills, with direct experience analyzing large datasets using Excel and SQL
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills with the ability to build trust with the customer, understand their needs, have a problem-solving attitude, manage expectations and negotiate where required
• Proven ability to develop /motivate staff, delegate, make decisions, deal with conflict / difficult situations and be strategic
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
• Strong presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to express solutions visually (via Powerpoint) and professionally for Senior Management consumption
• Highly proficient in MS Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly understand and learn topics not part of current skillset or knowledge base
• Ability in and awareness of data analytics concepts and practices
• Possess a passion for data as an asset
