Region Employee Relations Business Partner- LATAM
Job Description
We are currently hiring a Region Employee Relations Business Partner - LATAM who will be a key member of the Global Employee Relations Leadership team, who will promote positive associate/labor relations through effective management of collective and individual Employee Relations (ER) matters. Under the direction of the Sr. Director, Global Employee Relations, this position will serve as the lead for the LATAM Region countries with Employee Relations Operations, HR Compliance, and Complaint Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the continued growth of Employee Relations function and process and systems development with focus on LATAM
- Serve as a regional member of the Employee Representative Bodies Committee
- Keep close contact with HR Heads in LATAM to collect early information about Alcon LATAM's relevant projects and initiatives
- Build analytics strategy for the region; track, analyze and monitor data to identify and solve emerging ER trends (internal & external) Review case data with business/stakeholders
- Liaise with appropriate internal departments, leadership, and employees to appropriately respond to organizational/employee crisis and/or urgent matters (e.g., natural disasters, site emergencies, etc.)
- Represent Alcon with external agencies as appropriate
- Assist Global Employee Relations to develop and implement employee/labor relations strategies that are consistent with the organization's initiatives, compliant with legal requirements, and promote positive employee relations
- Actively support and successfully implement ER-related projects/initiatives (e.g., Living Wages, Corporate Responsibility Survey, Global Guidelines, etc.)
- Participate on Global ER CoE Leadership Team and establish productive partnerships with Global ER colleagues to support best practice sharing and alignment
- Manage and oversee region ER budget/spend
- Partner with HRBPs, Compliance, Legal and other departments to develop programs, tools, and communications to educate employees and reduce and prevent employee relations issues
- Partner with HRBPs for organization design changes that lead to a group reduction in force
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
- Work Hours: Mon - Fri
- Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

How You Will Thrive at Alcon:
- Build trust, collaboration, and good social dialogue with management to ensure productive/collaborative relationships with management and ERBs
- Successfully manage information and consultation process for transnational (2 or more countries of LATAM affected) projects and initiatives in accordance with LATAM Country Agreements
- Provide regular Alcon LATAM updates to the Regional LATAM Head of Human Resources and HR Heads
- Lead Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) for LATAM function to ensure that Alcon conducts business with third parties who align with Alcon's ethical standards
- Serve as the regional contact for internal HR audits
- Act as central contact and liaison between Global Employee Relations and country for HR policy matters
- Serve as Region HR Policy Head for assigned region
- The ability to communicate fluently in one or more Alcon working local languages within the LATAM region, such as Spanish or Portuguese
