About our Team
This team is responsible for all new sales and renewals of existing clients focused on our book and large journal sales in North America. This team works closely with counterparts in field sales and requires a collaborative structure and sales approach. You will excel if you have experience in both new business and renewal business.
About the Role
An Inside Sales Director you'll lead and manage the inside sales team. Focusing on optimizing sales processes and our strategies. You're involved in recruiting and training new sales personnel. Additionally, you'll refine sales pitches, foster a productive and positive team, and ensuring the team has the necessary tools and skills to succeed. You'll monitor sales performance using analytics and CRM tools. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The director collaborates with other departments, such as marketing and customer service. Ensuring a cohesive approach to sales and
customer relations.
Responsibilities
- Developing and refining the team's sales strategy.
- Building and coaching a high-performing sales team.
- Providing ongoing training and mentoring.
- Monitoring analytics and dashboards for improved decision-making.
- Ensuring sales targets are met/exceeded.
Requirements
- Experience managing sales teams and implementing strategies that drive achievement of financial objectives.
- Have a background in complex solution-sales approach "consultative selling."
- Have exceptional skills in forecasting, planning, and controlling budget.
- Experience and knowledge of libraries, publishing, and trends in scholarly communications and open access.
- Able to drive teamwork and work with/lead teams. Building relationships and network across teams.
- Display self-starter capabilities. Working effectively in an international matrixed organization.
- Have clear and persuasive written and verbal communication, fluency in English.
- Able to accommodate frequent travel.
