The Role

We are seeking a talented Regional Director - Coastal Engineering to manage this sector across South East Asia (with the exception of Singapore) and the Middle East region.

As the Regional Director – Coastal Engineering, you play a pivotal role in overseeing and expanding the company’s presence in the coastal and reclamation market within the region. You will shape the strategic landscape by not only overseeing the day-to-day operations but also steering the direction of the Coastal Engineering sub-sector.

Your responsibilities extend to ensuring the highest standards of operational and technical excellence, navigating the complexities of profit and loss management, and championing the development and mobilization of resources within the region.

Beyond these core functions, your leadership is instrumental in cultivating strong client relationships, contributing to the overall growth and success of SJ Group.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• 15+ years in the coastal engineering industry (coastal development, coastal protection, sea walls, reclamation, coastal modelling, coastal adaptation to climate change)
• At least 5 years in a management role
• A deep understanding of market dynamics, a strategic approach to business development and proficient management of financial and operational aspects
• Well-developed experience across management reporting, resource allocation, forming project teams and ensuring project quality deliverables are met
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; postgraduate and project management qualifications highly regarded.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and market trends across the region
• High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving highly complex commercial, technical and people matters.
• Ability to travel as required
